Family time at Los Sueños Resort & Marina during Spring break is easy and relaxed; parents will never hear the dreaded words, “I’m bored!” or “There’s nothing to do!” during a family vacation in Costa Rica- especially when staying at Los Sueños.
Here are eight things to do that the kids will love about Spring Break at Los Sueños Resort in Costa Rica.
They'll make friends!
Kids can make new friends at The Beach club. The beach club has a swim-up bar, large pool, volley ball court and play ground —plenty to keep them occupied.
They can swim!
Each Los Sueños Resort community has its own community pool; and sometimes several! Also, vacation villas often have a private pool. The resort’s fantastic Beach Club, a $3 million facility, is exclusive to residents and guests and features a massive free-form swimming pool complete with a huge shallow end for little ones, a swim up bar, the Al Fresco Restaurant, a raised white sand beach, shaded palapas, lounge chairs, tables, great service and more.
Horseback riding is fun!
A horseback ride to a nearby waterfall at La Quinta Farm has the plant life, wildlife and staggeringly beautiful views to impress everyone, including the kids. A dip in the mineral spring’s waterfall will refresh the entire gang before the ride home. This tour is great for families, as it is suitable for ages 5 and up.
Everyone loves being out on the water.
Head to the marina, or Herradura Bay, for cruises and charters. Some on-the-water adventures include diving, snorkeling, stand-up paddleboards, and outrigger canoes. The Tortuga Island cruise offers snorkeling and lunch on a semi-private beach. La Fragata Sailing Club offers private lessons, weekend classes and holiday camps suitable for ages 6 – 16. Of course, for those families with older kids and teens, Sport fishing is an incredible way to spend the day at Los Sueños Resort.
Zip-lining makes you feel like superman!
Jungle canopy tours are suitable for children 7 and older. Guides accompany the group along the cables to help ensure safety and a positive experience. For the very young or less adventurous, the aerial tram is a great way to see the forest canopy and guides are available to point out animals and explain forest ecology.
ATV riding is a great way to see the jungle.
Hop aboard an ATV, mountain bike, or a dune buggy and ride along jungle trails while expert guides share their knowledge of the terrain and its inhabitants. Two tours will take the whole family to waterfalls, rainforest and the beach. These tours are best suited to families with older children.
Whitewater river rafting is exciting!
Rafting on the Savegre River is for families with kids ages 8 and older. The Class II/III river runs through primary rainforest for an exhilarating ride from a different point of view. Professional river guides provide all the equipment, instruction and supervision to keep your family safe.
Hiking is a great way to discover new flora and fauna.
Nearby Manuel Antonio and Carara National Parks bring the wildlife into focus and are perfect hiking trails for the entire family as they are easy and fairly short. Manuel Antonio features level, paved paths and white-sand beaches. Nearby Carara National Park is where Amazonian and Mesoamerican ecosystems meet, forming a distinctive biological habitat.
From breakfast to dinnertime, there’s plenty to keep the kids occupied in and around Los Sueños Resort & Marina. In fact, if your kids are old enough, they can drive themselves, via golf cart, around the resort which a whole lot of fun all by itself. When you book, just ask the concierge staff for recommendations and to help with booking.
