For years many "digital nomads" have come and gone enjoying the beauty of Costa Rica while remaining active in their jobs and careers, allowing them to work remotely. Now more than ever, businesses are allowing their employees to have flexible work schedules and in perfect timing, Costa Rica has passed a new law making it much easier for these digital nomads to remain here for a longer period of time. This new law will grant year-long visas in Costa Rica for these qualifying remote workers. "Remote workers can obtain a permit to stay for one year in Costa Rica, extendable for one additional year. They will also have the possibility of opening local bank accounts and can drive in Costa Rica using their country’s license, among other benefits."
